After so many years the drug called Nexavar is invented for the cure of liver cancer. One of the doctors involved in the invention of this drug said they didn’t have any medication to offer these patients. With this medication the survival has extended. The physicians were of the view that they were looking for the medication for the past many years and many trials have gone waste.

Sorafenib is the other name of Nexavar and the credit for the invention goes to Onyx Pharmaceuticals which is a biotechnology company of California. According to the company they will be soon officially selling the medicine for the cure of liver cancer. As for the trial the patients who took Nexavar lived more as compared to those who received placebo. Some of the side-effects were sore disease in both hands and feet and diarrhea. The patients those who underwent the trial mainly suffered from hepatocellular carcinoma, which is a very common form of liver cancer. The doctors also said that the outcome would not be relevant for other types of liver cancer.

But now with the coming of the Nexavar doctors and other people are mainly concerned with the price factor, as most of the people think that it is quite costly. It has been found that liver cancer was mainly found in the people who are already suffering from liver cirrhosis. Alone in American there has been 17,000 cases.

The numbers of cases are on a rise with the increasing cases of hepatitis C. Across the world the cases are on a rise, which has made the liver cancer the most deadly forms of cancer.
